Install Gnome Desktop on the RHEL6 text interface

In rhel, the name of the gonme Desktop package is changed to Desktop. However, if you only install this group, the interface does not support the X protocol. When you start the Desktop, the following error message related to X appears. Xinit: Nosuchfileordirectory (errno2): noserver & ldquo;/usr/bin/X & rdquo; inPATHxinit: Nosuchfileordirecto

In rhel, the name of the gonme Desktop package is changed to Desktop. However, if you only install this group, the interface does not support the X protocol. When you start the Desktop, the following error message related to X appears.

Xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): no server "/usr/bin/X" in PATH
Xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
Xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

Therefore, to install Gnome desktop on the Character interface, you need to install two groups.
[Root @ localhost ~] # Yum groupinstall "X Window System"
[Root @ localhost ~] # Yum groupinstall "Desktop"

Start Gnome Desktop
[Root @ localhost ~] # Startx

Other methods for switching between character and graphic interface
Ctrl + Alt + F1 ~ F6 switch character virtual terminal, use Ctrl + Alt + F7 to switch to the graphic interface.
In addition, for switching between multiple virtual consoles, use Alt + F1 ~ F6
