The simplest way to try Gnome-shell under Fedora12 is to install the desktop-effects package. After yuminstalldesktop-effectsgnome-shell is installed, the system/preferences/desktop effects are displayed.

The simplest way to try Gnome-shell under Fedora 12 is to install the desktop-effects package.
Yum install desktop-effects gnome-shell
After the installation is complete, enter the system/preferences/desktop effects, where you can flexibly switch between Gnome and Gnome shell
If you want to manually set Gnome-shell, execute the following command:
Mkdir ~ /. Config/autostart ln-s/usr/share/applications/gnome-shell.desktop ~ /. Config/autostart
You can also directly execute the following commands
Gnome-shell -- replace &
If you want to use gnome shell permanently, you can select "system/preferences/desktop special effects". If you want to use www.linuxidc.com temporarily, you can use the preceding command, ctr + C to exit.
