Let's take a look at the wonderful movie with Mplayer in Ubuntu 8.04.
It's another weekend. I want to see the latest wonderful movie, but I re-installed Ubuntu 8.04 in my notebook, the default Player installed in Ubuntu 8.04 does not support playback of AVI and Rmvb audio and video files. First add the relevant Ubuntu 8.04 update source, see Ubuntu 8.04 change update source (http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2008-06/13914.htm)
Mplayer installation is simple. You only need to enter the following information on the terminal:
Sudo apt-get install mplayer-fonts mplayer-skins mozilla-mplayer
Start after installation. Right-click the main menu and choose Preferences/Properties> Video/Video. In "Available drivers/Available driver", select "x11" or "xv ", in the lower part of the same window, you can "drop frames/Enable frame dropping ". After mplayer is installed, it supports a small number of video formats by default. To play various types of videos in Windows, you must install w32codecs. A simple installation method is provided below:
Enter sudo apt-get install w32codecs on the terminal to complete the installation.
If not in the source, download the http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/ OS /Linux/distributions/debian-multimedia/pool/main/w/w32codecs/w32codecs_20071007-0.1_i386.deb here
You can directly install it after the download.
We need to install the multimedia decoder again, saving the trouble in the future:
Sudo apt-get install xubuntu-restricted-extras
Of course, you can install them one by one.
