The installation method is as follows:
My system is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
1. download xgcom source code from http://code.google.com/p/xgcom. The latest version is xgcom-0.04.2.tgz.
Unzip to tar xvzf xgcom-0.04.2.tgz/usr/local/src under/usr/local/src
2. install make, automake, libglib2.0-dev, libvte-dev, and libgtk2.0-dev libraries before compiling xgcom. Some systems may already have their own.
Sudo apt-get install automake
Sudo apt-get install libglib2.0-dev
Sudo apt-get install libvte-dev
Sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev
3. get ready and start compiling xgcom
Go to the decompressed Source Code Directory, cd/usr/local/src/xgcom-0.04.2-src
Configure and compile with reference to README
./Autogen. sh
Make

Then xgcom runs
You can check which xgcom and install it under/usr/local/bin.
