I used to use the default Vista system for my laptop. I want to replace it with a Ubuntu single system ~ Immediately got the latest Ubuntu11.04Beta2 version, because there is no optical drive, so use the U disk Boot Mode to install, the specific steps are as follows: ① make a U disk boot first format the U disk (my 8G, in fact, 2 GB is enough). Note: You must select the format of the U disk file as FAT32. NTFS cannot be used because NTFS is private to Microsoft, if the USB flash disk is in this format, Ubuntu cannot recognize the USB flash disk after it is restarted,

Immediately releases the latest Ubuntu 11.04 Beta2 version, because there is no optical drive, so use the U disk Boot Method to install, the specific steps are as follows:

① Create a USB flash drive

Format the USB flash drive first (I have 8 GB, but 2 GB is enough). Note: You must select the format of the USB flash drive file as FAT32. NTFS is not supported because NTFS is private to Microsoft, if the USB flash disk is in this format, Ubuntu will not be able to identify the USB flash disk after it is restarted, so it will not be able to complete the installation of a single system.

Then use unetbootin-win-549.exe (download in the http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2009-04/19610.htm) tool to iso Installation File ubuntu-11.04-beta2-desktop-i386.iso to achieve the U disk, the tool is easy to operate, select as required.

② Restart, start from the USB flash drive, and start installation.

After the USB flash drive is created, you will be prompted to restart. During the boot, you will choose to start from the USB flash drive, and then select Install Ubuntu (non-default). Then, the installation process will be Gui-based.

The only thing to note is that you need to install a single system (remove the original system ), when "allocating disk space", select the second option "replace Windows Vista with Ubuntu" (the system to be replaced may be different, depending on your original system) or the third item "Other Options" (the third item is the custom disk space. If the computer itself has a hidden system to restore the partition, we recommend that you use this item to avoid deleting the hidden partition ).

③ Restart after installation

Before restarting, the system will prompt you to unmount the USB flash drive. After starting, you can select the Ubuntu system to enter! Generally, the first one is Ubuntu, Linux 2.6.38-8-generic by default. Select and enter!

I saw the Ubuntu Logo and heard a strange piece of music. Congratulations! Ubuntu has been installed successfully! Select the user you just created to enter the Ubuntu World ~~
