Enter the BIOS and set the boot sequence to: 1. Optical Drive/2. USB hard drive/3. Hard drive
Start with the Ubuntu 8.04 CD and install it properly. Select the maximum available free space on the partition interface (USB hard disk, please note). Set it in the Advanced button on the grub interface, select a USB hard disk (for example, sdb ).
After the installation is restarted, grub cannot be started.
Continue to start the CD. During the installation process, click exit to go To the Ubuntu Desktop and modify the configuration file on the USB hard disk:
/Media/disk/boot/grub/menu. lst
Check the final hd0 and hd1. (In the configuration, XP is hd1, Ubuntu is hd0, And the write is reversed)
Restart the computer and run the UT command. The test is successful!
Note: The posts on the network basically show that the kernel needs to be re-compiled, which is for the old version of Ubuntu. The new version does not need to be re-compiled.
