Introduction to the Linux operating system "brute-force cracking" software, read about the Linux operating system "brute-force cracking" software, often with some encryption when using a computer
When using a computer, it often deals with encrypted documents, such as Zip, Rar, and even PDF documents.
Sometimes we forget the password of the document and have to use the brute force cracking method. Is there any software in Linux. Of course, this article introduces three Linux brute force cracking software.
The Linux environment uses Ubuntu 7.10 as an example. the following three software are included in the Ubuntu source and can be directly installed using apt-get install.
1. crack the Zip file password
Currently, the most popular file format on the network is zip. Therefore, we will first introduce the software for cracking the Zip file password. It is named fcrackzip and is based on the command line.
Fcrackzip provides the main functions of common cracking software, including brute-force and dictionary cracking. If you know the number or composition of characters in the password, it is best to use brute force cracking.
It also provides test functions to help you understand the speed at which the machine is cracked.
For example, if you know that a Zip file consists of 6 lowercase letters, you only need to run the following command:
Fcrackzip-c a-p aaaaaa sample.zip
Then fcrackzip will outline all the possibilities from aaaaaa to zzzzzz, and the password will soon be cracked.
For more information, see fcrackzip-help.
2. crack PDF documents
To protect private documents, more and more PDF files are encrypted. Using another software: javascrack, you can crack PDF files. It is also a command line software that supports cracking of all known PDF versions.
Similar to fcrackzip, javascrack provides exhaustive, dictionary, and basic test functions. Although the command line parameters are different, they are basically similar in use.
In the simplest case, you don't have to specify any parameters. you just need to directly "crack the crack file name.
3. crack the Windows password
This is unrelated to cracking the document password, but it does work in Linux: Cracking the password for Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista!
Using ophcrack, a GTK +-based graphics software, cracking Windows passwords is not difficult, including cracking the latest Vista.
What's more powerful is that with the LiveCD: Ophcrack LiveCD loaded with Ophcrack, you can take the CD, where to go, and where to crack it: the CD has the ability to load the encrypted SAM from the Windows partition, if you do not need to install the software, you can start to crack the software by starting with a CD.
This article only describes a few of the most popular software in Linux. we can see that the software in Linux is also rich. of course, most of them are graphics software.
