1. First you need to prepare the icon to display

The requirement size is 57*57 pixels, preferably in. png format.

In fact, common image formats can be displayed normally, but using. png is best because Xcode automatically optimizes the. png image as it builds the application, making it the fastest and most efficient image type in the iOS app.

2. Drag and drop the. png file from the Finder into the Resoure folder in Xcode. This pops up a dialog box that lets you choose to have Xcode copy the file to the project directory, or you can add it as a reference to the original file to the project. If you are not sharing with other projects, you typically choose to copy the resources into the Xcode project.

3. Modify the. plist file

Open the project's. plist file, which is a property list file that contains some general information about the application.

In the list of attributes, locate the icon file, and set the value of the. PNG name, such as Icon.png.

Then compile and run to see if the app's icon is the one you set.

Also, even if you omit the icon file entry in Plist, the icon will still appear. Because by default, if no icon file name is provided, the SDK searches for a resource named Icon.png and uses it.

You can try not to set the icon file entry to see if your icon will still display properly.
