Author: User

Read textarea text values can be used with name and ID. A literal value can only be written with an ID.

<textarea name= "Content" id= "content" rows= "8" cols= "5" > This is textarea content </textarea>

To read "This is textarea content", you can use:

$ ("textarea[name= ' content ']"). Val () $ ("#content"). Val ()

$ ("textarea[name= ' content ']"). Text () $ ("#content"). Text ()

You can only use an ID number to write a literal value to textarea:

$ ("#content"). Val ("This is the textarea text content to write")

$ ("#content"). Text ("This is the textarea text content to write")

The difference between Val and text is that Val () can represent newline characters, while text cannot.
