To enable the root account at www.2cto.com and log on to www.2cto.com on the GUI, follow these steps: 1. set the password for the root account: sudo passwd root 2. to log on to the root account on the GUI, edit/etc/lightdm. conf and add greeter-show-manual-login = true. now, restart the system and use the root account to log on. If you need to disable the root account again, run: sudo passwd-l root. if you need to enable the root account again, run: sudo passwd-u root.
