3. If you want to display and enter Chinese characters on the Character interface, you can install a software package, such as cce and zhcon. If not, you can use Putty for remote control.
If you use Putty to remotely control Linux, you can display and enter Chinese characters, but you must set them. To display Chinese characters, you must set the LANG variable to Chinese. If you want to enter Chinese characters, you only need to select the new Window ance, Chinese Character Set, and bold 3 in the Window-Appearance of Putty. (The Chinese Character Set is required and the font is casual, my experience is that xinsong looks nice in Chinese and English, and is comfortable in bold 3). Use font encoding for character set in Window-Translation. After setting, you can enter Chinese characters in the interface and file. If only the input can not be displayed, it does not have much practical significance. It can only be used to use a Chinese directory or file in the command line.
4. In general, if you want to display Chinese characters, it is better to set the system language to Chinese. If you have to use English for other reasons, it is relatively difficult to install cce or remote control (the terminal manually changes the LANG variable)
