Linux Desktop is like MacOSX widgets using Screenletsd-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information. For more information, see the following. Note that there is a software that allows Linux desktop to have widgets like MacOS X, which is Screenletsd, Official Website: http://hendrik.kaju.pri.ee/screenlets/ (which may be blocked and cannot be accessed directly ).

Shixinyu I used some methods to download the Screenletsd Deb package, which is provided here for you to download:

Screenlets-0.0.7-11pre0.0.8_i386.deb
Screenlets-core-0.0.7-11pre0.0.8_i386.deb
Screenlets-extra-0.0.7-17_i386.deb
Screenlets-utils-0.0.7-14_i386.deb

All these packages need to be downloaded. The installation environment Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty is available for Deb packages earlier than this version with a lower version of Screenletsd, go to the official website to download the Deb package for Ubuntu versions earlier than Ubuntu 7.04.

Installation order is screenlets-core-0.0.7-11pre0.0.8_i386.deb, screenlets-extra-0.0.7-17_i386.deb, screenlets-utils-0.0.7-14_i386.deb, and finally screenlets-0.0.7-11pre0.0.8_i386.deb.

After installation, open the terminal and enter the following command:
$ Screenletsd start

Then open the tag in the terminal and enter the following command:
$ Screenletsd add Control

A Widget is displayed on the desktop. We can right-click the Widget and Add some components, such as Clock and Weather. We can also directly start some people, such as Firefox, on this Widget. If your Widget has a box shadow, it may be that you have not started the desktop effect (Compiz) that comes with Ubuntu 7.04. After the box is started, no black box is displayed, and you have not yet learned whether Beryl is valid. Compiz Fusion, perhaps working with Beryl, is effective. The final effect is shown in:

(400) {this. resized = true; this. width = 400; this. alt = 'click here to open new window';} "onmouseover =" if (this. resized) this. style. cursor = 'hand'; "onclick =" window. open ('HTTP: // response); ">

If you want to start Screenletsd at startup, then, add the "screenletsd start" command under the "Startup Program" tab in "sessions" under "system" "Preferences. In this way, widgets you have added will be automatically loaded. If you have the ability to write widgets, you are welcome to submit them to the screenletsd official website.
