The main Linux Browser Acid3 big test-general Linux technology-Linux technology and application information. The following is a detailed description. From Linux Desktop
Recently, the browser war has become increasingly fierce, and the first is Apple's Safari. It is rumored that its performance is very outstanding, and all tests on Acid are very good.

However, Safari, IE, and other browsers are not on the Linux platform. Therefore, I made a special test to test some browsers on the Linux platform using Acid3. The results are shared with you for your reference only.

How to test Acid3? It's easy, just make sure that your browser uses the default settings (JavaScript is not disabled), and then visit the Acid3 test homepage:

1. Firefox 2.0.0.12
First of all, please refer to Firefox 2, the most popular in Linux, with a test score of 53, which is messy. The score may be different, but the score can be roughly the same.

(400) {this. resized = true; this. width = 400; this. alt = 'click here to open new window';} "onmouseover =" if (this. resized) this. style. cursor = 'hand'; "onclick =" window. open ('HTTP: // pic.yupoo.com/tualatrix/7466754ab087/medium.jpg'); ">

2. Firefox 3 Beta 4
Test the upgraded version of Firefox 3 of Firefox 2.

I am using Firefox 3 Beta4 from Ubuntu 8.04. Now Beta 5 is available, and the score will be better. Firefox 3 Beta 4 scored 68 points, which is much higher than Firefox 2, and the picture is much more neat.

(400) {this. resized = true; this. width = 400; this. alt = 'click here to open new window';} "onmouseover =" if (this. resized) this. style. cursor = 'hand'; "onclick =" window. open ('HTTP: // pic.yupoo.com/tualatrix/3813254ab086/medium.jpg'); ">

3. Opera 9.2
Opera is also the next important browser in Linux. It seems that Opera 9.5 is coming soon, but I tested it with Opera 7.10 In Ubuntu 9.2. You can try it with the new Opera.

Opera scored only 46 points in 9.2, a little lower than Firefox 2.

(400) {this. resized = true; this. width = 400; this. alt = 'click here to open new window';} "onmouseover =" if (this. resized) this. style. cursor = 'hand'; "onclick =" window. open ('HTTP: // pic.yupoo.com/tualatrix/2914654ab086/medium.jpg'); ">

4. Konqueror (KDE 4.0.2)
Konqueror is also part of the family of browsers that cannot be ignored in Linux. It has a very advanced Web Page Layout Engine (KHTML). WebKit is derived from KHTML. So what is the Acid3 test result?

I use Konqueror in the latest stable version of KDE 4.0.2. The test score is 61, which is between Firefox 2 and Firefox 3. For example:

(400) {this. resized = true; this. width = 400; this. alt = 'click here to open new window';} "onmouseover =" if (this. resized) this. style. cursor = 'hand'; "onclick =" window. open ('HTTP: // pic.yupoo.com/tualatrix/5063854ab086/medium.jpg'); ">

5. Midori
What is Midori? It is estimated that many friends do not know Midori. If you are an old LDCN visitor, you should know. Midori is a browser based on GTK + and WebKit that is still under development. It was previously introduced in this article:

Install WebKit-based browsers from the source-Midori

The above is how to install Midori in Ubuntu 7.10, while Midori is already in Ubuntu 8.04.

OK. Go back to the topic. No one is using the Midori browser, and it is just a semi-finished product. How can I use it for testing?

Of course it is necessary to test Midori. Midori is the same as Safari, which has never been used in the past. It has the same core: WebKit. Does WebKit make new browsers in Linux have the same capabilities? We also need to know that after WebKit is encapsulated into GTK +, it is still not as powerful as before?

The answer is yes! In this Acid3 test, the winner is the new star Midori, which scored 88 points, far exceeding that of other browsers. It proves that Midori has excellent performance and best complies with Internet standards. Will it be higher if it is an official version?

(400) {this. resized = true; this. width = 400; this. alt = 'click here to open new window';} "onmouseover =" if (this. resized) this. style. cursor = 'hand'; "onclick =" window. open ('HTTP: // pic.yupoo.com/tualatrix/4253954ab086/medium.jpg'); ">

These five tests were completed on Ubuntu7.10 and Ubuntu 8.04 respectively. If you are interested, test them and share the results with each other. A person's score may not indicate any problems. Only when your score proves everything.

In addition, it is reported that GTK + WebKit will be used in common applications on the GNOME platform and related applications in the future, including the Help System of The GNOME desktop environment.
