2016 global smartphone shipments are expected to be roughly flat with 2015 (up 0.6% yoy) to 1.45 billion units, down sharply from a 10.4% increase in 2015. China's market is also experiencing the same trend: China's smartphone sales of 417 million units in 2015, a growth of only 3% yoy.

In 2015, China's smartphone holdings increased 22% to 1 billion units a year earlier. As the base increases, the overall growth rate will gradually slow down.
