I made up my mind to install linux on my machine. I chose Ubuntu, which should be the most popular release now. I have applied for a 6.06 CD. but for various reasons, not Installed! Now the latest version is 7.04. Because there is a burner on your machine, you have downloaded the latest version!

I am surprised to have to mention the downloading information here, because the 700M image is finished in about five minutes! If I want to use AD for campus networks, it is totally impossible! Fortunately, our school has very few campus network restrictions. For 30 yuan a month, most of the time there is a sense of great value for money, but it would be better if the proxy function can be enabled, although the proxy server built by the school is quite fast!

At present, the preparations are almost the same, but I haven't thought about where to move the items first. My computer is 60 GB and I have three disks. I plan to install them with an edisk, so we have to move things away. Fortunately, there are movies and music there. After the installation, we should be able to transfer it back. If not, we can try again! I'm just wondering if I want to bother my classmates, put things there or find a time to transfer things to my sister's machine! Let's take a look at it. I prefer to transfer it to my sister's machine. After all, I am not so used to bothering others!

I am looking for a tutorial. Although it is rumored that Ubuntu has been installed very well, it is always good to have two different formats!

Unexpectedly, after I wrote the preparation article, I decided to take action! I know myself too well. If I don't act quickly, I believe it will take some time! Well, let's talk about the installation and preliminary use!

First, install it. Because the file storage system of linux (I don't know if it should be called this) is installed, the hard disk format is completely different from that of windows! So I can only clear one partition for ubuntu installation. I have uploaded everything to my classmate's machine. Thanks for the hard disk price! Otherwise, no one will have that big space to help me with the transfer station!

The next step is the installation process!

1. I used a CD for installation. I have downloaded and burned the CD before! The preparation work is to delete the cleared partitions in windows. In many online tutorials, we can use PM to solve the problem. However, if you use a whole partition for installation, in fact, you can simply use the built-in program to delete it! After all, no one will use the software!

2. After completing this step, you can start the installation! Of course, before that, you have to read a lot of things. The most important thing is to look at the partition information! I recommend a blog here. I just read the above materials to install it. Maybe the official materials will be more comprehensive, but I am too lazy to read too many things! There are a lot of related materials on the Nicky's blog, and they are all more practical. After installation, you can refer to the above articles to make some settings!

3. after reading the information, I confirmed my plan. I used the original edisk on the machine, about 2G. After reading some partition information, I decided to divide this part of space into four zones: first, the root partition is essential. This is necessary. I divided it into four GB, and then the swap partition, many tutorials are written in this way. The partition size is generally twice that of your physical memory. But according to my understanding, this is similar to the virtual memory in WIN, so I used 512 M. It should be enough! Basically, if you read all the tutorials, they will tell you that the first two partitions are required, and the next is the/home partition. I have divided them into around 15 GB, the rest I Made A/usr partition. The former is used to store your own files, and the latter is the application directory, I may have done a lot of high-risk experiments on this, so I also made a large partition for this!

4. After the solution is finalized, the installation will begin! In fact, the process can be said to be relatively simple. In the BIOS, set the camera as a drive to start, put the disc in, and then you can see the boot screen, in this way, you can follow the prompts to continue NEXT! The first choice is the language. I am a luxury and don't hesitate to select Simplified Chinese. Then, I will select the time zone. This should have little impact. Use the default Shanghai version! Step 3: select the keyboard layout, which is usually the default layout!

The focus is on step 1, that is, to determine the partition! Here I will talk about the situation I encountered. There are several options in this step, but the installation tutorial I saw is not involved. I don't know if their machines use linux only, there is no windows system. I still have a picture of choice before seeing the following picture!

I can't help it. Let me talk about it. There are four options. What does it mean? I really didn't understand it. At the beginning, I used the option automatically selected by the system, it turned out to be wrong, because I stopped the installation and then went back to WIN and checked it. The result was that I changed the size of my original D disk a lot. Fortunately, it was not formatted, otherwise, I can only cry! After two uncertain attempts, I finally understood it! Select the last "Manual" option, which will display your hard disk status, including the two disks under WIN. The format is fat32!

The next operation is partitioning! You do not need to change the partition under WIN. Of course you can also adjust the size. I just changed the D disk I modified below! There is a freespace in it. This is the space you can use! Follow the preceding solution and refer to the figure above. I will fix it! I believe everyone will not have any major problems! It's easy to put it up. Follow the prompts to install it NEXT until the system is restarted and the installation is complete!

If you do not have a network connection, the system may not install the Simplified Chinese Language Pack for you. I jumped over because the download speed was too slow! So after entering, there was no way to enter Chinese, and I was very depressed! It seems that ubuntu does not rely on the network!

Okay! The entire installation process is basically free of risks! Let's look at yourself!

Next, I will continue to write about my usage, especially on the campus network customer site. I believe some of my friends who are also using the campus network will be helpful!

PS: This is a log published under ubuntu! Haha.
