Vii. Installing the Web Service Feature Pack
Now that WebSphere is updated to the latest version, you can install the Web Services Feature Pack, which adds support for the Java EE Web Service specification JAX-WS.
1. The Web Service Feature Pack is installed by using a standalone installer included in the ZIP or CD/DVD to unzip the zip file or insert the CD/DVD into the computer. If you are installing from a CD/DVD, the Setup program will run automatically. Otherwise, locate and run the Installer.exe file in the websv subfolder.
Important: If you install WebSphere Application server into the C:Program Files folder, because you modified permissions control on Windows 7 and Vista, we recommend that you right-click the update Installer the window shortcut and select Run as Administrator from the menu to ensure that the update does not fail due to permissions issues.
2. In the Setup Wizard, click Next on each page, agree to the license, confirm your WebSphere Application Server installation path, and then install start.
3. When the installation is complete, the wizard displays all installed content.
4. Click Finish to open the Profile management tool. You don't need this tool now, so you can turn it off.
Viii. Apply Updates PK53084 interim fix and updates PK53084 interim fix
Now that you have updated WebSphere and added the Web service Feature pack, you need to apply two updates for the Web Service Feature pack:
- 6.1.0.9-ws-waswebsvc-ifpk53084.pak
- 6.1.0-ws-waswebsvc-winx32-fp0000013.pak
1. Copy or move the two PAK files to the Maintenance folder used in section 6th.
2. As with the WebSphere update, run update Installer again by starting the installation program from the Start menu.
Important: If you install WebSphere Application server into the C:Program Files folder, because you modified permissions control on Windows 7 and Vista, we recommend that you right-click the update Installer the window shortcut and select Run as Administrator from the menu to ensure that the update does not fail due to permissions issues.
3. Click Next on each page of the wizard to confirm the WebSphere installation to be upgraded, and so on. When you reach the page that shows the list of updates to be applied, two are listed.
4. At this point, only the 6.1.0.9-ws-waswebsvc-ifpk53084.pak is available for selection. First select and apply it.
5. Click Relaunch (or click Finish, then manually restart the update installer), and then step through the wizard until a unique remaining update is listed, then select it and click Next. The final Maintenance Pack Updater applies the last update to WebSphere.
6. Click Finish to complete the Web Service Pack feature update.
