MySQL root password modification method under Linux (ERROR 1054)

To start MySQL in safe mode, you can log in as root and reset your password. Here are the steps

1. Stop the MySQL service that is running:

Service Mysqld Stop

2. Safe mode to start MySQL:

sudo mysqld_safe--skip-grant-tables--skip-networking &

3. Login directly with root, no password required:

Mysql-uroot-p

4. Reset Password:

Update Usersetauthentication_string=password (' password ') where user= ' root ';  >> mysql5.6 and the following    update user set authentication_string=password (' password ') where user= ' root ';  >>mysql5.7+

5. Refresh and restart

Flush privileges;
