Significant advantages of the new CPU Platform
Recently, Ubuntu 11.10 released the second public Beta version of Beta 2. This new platform uses the latest Linux Kernel 3.0.4 and the desktop environment is the GNOME 3.2 RC candidate version, it also uses the Firefox 7.0 Beta 6 browser and Mozilla Thunderbird 7.0 Beta 3 mail client.
On Phoronix, an open-source system testing website, Ubuntu 11.10 and 64-bit Ubuntu 11.04 have recently been released to compete in performance. These two system platforms are respectively installed with six different PC systems, ubuntu 11.04 and Ubuntu 11.10 are installed on each benchmark system, and each Ubuntu is installed on an out-of-the-box device for testing.

PostMark disk test
In the PostMark disk test, there is no significant performance gap between Ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 In the default EXT4 file system. However, the performance of Intel Atom 330 and Core 2 Duo systems is slightly regressed, but Ubuntu 11.10 is slightly improved on another intel system, and the other three systems have almost the same results.
FS-Mark disk test
FS-Mark is the final disk test and also shows the performance trend of the software tested earlier. However, the six platforms are basically similar in general and further improved as data integrity.
In a new round of FS-Mark disk testing, Ubuntu 11.04 outperforms Ubuntu 11.10 In the Intel Atom System, Core 2 Duo, and AMD Yunlong system platforms, however, on the latest CPU platform, Ubuntu 11.10 has obvious advantages.
