Preparing for SDN Cisco's acquisition of SDN startups Broadhop

Hilton Romanski, vice president and head of Cisco's Business Development office, said the acquisition of Broadhop was also a key component of Cisco's Open network environment strategy. This strategy is designed to improve network programmability. Being able to more easily and save local configuration, programming, and scaling networks is a key driver of today's software-defined networks. The software-defined network is a major focus of network vendors such as Cisco in the 2013.

Currently, as the SDN strategy intensifies, Cisco is seeking to crack growth stagnation with massive acquisitions, with companies such as Citrix Systems, NetApp and Rackspace becoming a potential acquisition target for Cisco, in addition to Broadhop. Foreign network vendors have bought SDN startups to seize the SDN market, but domestic network manufacturers look at the SDN market, it seems to be a mirrors state, whether SDN can bring great impact?
