This short tutorial will show you how to easily move the Dropbox folder to another location in Ubuntu.

I wrote these tutorials because I received a brand new HP EliteBook laptop with a 128 GB SSD hard drive a few months ago. I love this fast and well-performing computer.

Its disadvantage is that local storage is too small to handle all my things. In addition to my local applications and data, I also have several GB-sized files in my Dropbox.

Therefore, when I synchronize my Dropbox account and download all its content, my HP EliteBook completely consumes the entire local disk.

The only solution is to directly move the Dropbox folder to an external mobile hard disk without using a local storage disk.

If you find that you have similar problems, whether using Windows or Ubuntu, follow these steps to free up space on the local disk. Start to move the Dropbox folder in Ubuntu and insert the external storage first. This example is not a real external mobile hard drive, but a test in the vbox test environment .)

After the disk is inserted, enter Unity Dash and search for Disks. Open it and select the external drive you want to apply. ClickTools-> Format

Next, format the drive file systemNTFSFormat.

After formatting, selectTools-> Mount Options
