Currently, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 in the testing stage uses Docker as its preferred container format. Docker also announced a project named JumpStart, which will provide guidance on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux and OpenShift-based Docker Registry and Docker container cial deployment support for organizations or groups.
"For many years, RedHat has always adhered to development, investment and promotion of innovative technologies. For example, with the open-source Linux Containers, RedHat has made countless fundamental contributions over the years, "said Brian Stevens, executive vice president and chief technology officer of RedHat, "Docker eliminates the software container barriers faced by enterprises. It integrates ease of use, program packaging, and infrastructure integration, making technological breakthroughs exciting."
This is not the first cooperation between RedHat and Docker. Last year, the RedHat-sponsored Fedora Linux project integrated the Docker service. Last month, RedHat announced an extension of its application authentication solution to include container programs. The company said it would ensure that programs packed in Red Hat Enterprise Linux run smoothly on any authenticated container host.
