The problem is that the company needs to re-package a lot of computers, so it creates a Ghost disk, re-encapsulates It, And binds a lot of required software, have installed the latest patch for the day. After the installation, it is found that a strange problem occurs in the WSUS server. When a client connects to WSUS, the other server will be replaced. At first, it is thought to be a SID problem, however, I checked the SID with a tool and tried it with NewSID.
Finally, I tried Google to find a very useful thing, susclientid's registry value, and immediately opened the computer to check. I found that everything was the same and I could find the cause, this can be solved.
Run --> regedit to find
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ WindowsUpdate
Delete
"PingID"
"AccountDomainSid"
"SusClientId"
Restart the automatically updated service, or restart the computer, and enter
Wuauclt.exe/resetauthorization/detectnow
View the Registry again and find that a new susclientid is generated. If the value is different, it is OK.
Then, check the WSUS server again and find that it is also normal.
The problem may occur when WSUS is used to update the Ghost master disk, so the same susclientid is generated. When we do it again, we need to delete the three items after completing the patch and then encapsulate them.
After the restart, wuauclt.exe/resetauthorization/detectnow is executed.
