Article Title: Seven reasons why Windows 7 cannot destroy Ubuntu. Linux is a technology channel of the IT lab in China. Includes basic categories such as desktop applications, Linux system management, kernel research, embedded systems, and open source.

Theinquirer commented that Windows 7 is enough to kill Linux, which I think is not the case. There aren't many desktop Linux like Ubuntu targeting the desktop market, and Windows 7 cannot kill Linux. some of the reasons are technical issues, but the biggest factor is the business:

1. Ubuntu is at the helm. Microsoft was able to kill IBM because they own Bill Gates. the competitor is only a bunch of people in suits. now Microsoft has become the latter, while Ubuntu also has Mark Shuttleworth.

2. Ubuntu has higher server compatibility. Linux continues to suppress Windows in the server field, and servers (based on cloud technology) will be more advantageous than clients.

3. Ubuntu partners will not abandon it. HP and Dell have already tasted the freedom to leave Microsoft, and they will not give up easily. They will continue to expand their Ubuntu product line.

4. Netbook will continue to evolve. The PC with "no movable components" (no moving parts) is still in version 1.0, which is cheaper. the profitable "netbook" will be widely used in airports, hotels, and other fields.

5. more programs will come. From the perspective of logarithm factor, there are more programs in Windows than in Linux, but more and more developers will bring new programs to Linux.

6. Windows is losing its share of the mobile market. Linux is doing well, Apple has won a major victory, and RIM is still persistent. what about Windows? The PC includes servers to mobile clients.

7. open-source model. Software development is becoming like the old Steve Jackson game Ogre, and Microsoft is the Ogre. Ubuntu and other open-source software still have a small share, but there are a large number of them, and they can be combined.

This does not mean that Microsoft is no longer the master of the desktop, but Ubuntu has replaced it, which is still far away. However, Ubuntu still needs to keep enough interest in this war, and it also needs to do so.

Ubuntu is doing well in his current market share. How much will it exceed next year? It may be a little bit. Microsoft will not disappear under the open-source attack, just as IBM did not disappear under the pressure of Microsoft, but it will change. of course, we are happy to see how it changes.
