Solution for failure to use headphones in Ubuntu7.10

Source: Internet

After Ubuntu7.10 is installed, it is found that some basic functional modules have GUI, program installation/uninstallation, and some basic daily software. You can achieve the notebook shortcut function without installing other software, such as brightness adjustment and volume adjustment. Other hardware can be used normally. I'm very happy. Previously I installed RedHat on a CRT desktop, and the video card cannot be driven. Oh, it's like opening a press conference, and my eyes cannot flash. It's okay this time. Everything is so normal-at least it looks good. In the evening, I want to hear from other people without disturbing them.

Previously I installed RedHat on a CRT desktop, and the video card cannot be driven. Oh, it's like opening a press conference, and my eyes cannot flash. It's okay this time. Everything is so normal-at least it looks good. In the evening, I want to use headphones to listen to music without disturbing others. Plug in, the built-in speaker is no sound, but the headset is quiet. It seems that you can only find it by yourself. Finally, the solution is found as follows:

If your/etc/directory contains modprobe. conf, modules. conf, or conf. modules, you only need to comment out the part about the sound card # and add the following content:

# ALSA portion
Alias char-major-116 snd
Alibaba snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
Options snd-hda-intel model = z71v position_fix = 1

# OSS/Free portion
Alias char-major-14 soundcore
Alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0

# Card #1
Alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
Alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
Alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
Alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
Alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss

Then restart alsamixer. Open alsamixer and check whether headphone is available.

If you are using Ubuntu and cannot find those files in the/etc/directory, you need to open/etc/modprobe. d directory, edit the following aliases file, add the rows starting with alias to the directory, and

Options snd-hda-intel model = z71v position_fix = 1

Add it to/etc/modprobe. d/options and restart the device so that the headset can be used.

I hope everyone can solve the problem.
