I successfully upgraded my laptop to Ubuntu7.10 from Ubuntu7.04 to 7.10 the day before yesterday. I successfully upgraded my laptop to Ubuntu 7.10 from Ubuntu 7.04 to Ubuntu 7.10 the day before yesterday.
Everything else went fine, but some third-party software, such as vmware, had a small problem and it was useless even if we ran the vmware-config.pl.
This should be because of kernel upgrade issues. Regardless of him, I can reinstall Ubuntu 7.10.
The most terrible thing is that the scim input method cannot be called. Even if I set it again, the input method cannot be called.
I checked some information, and it turned out to be a problem with input method initialization. Use the following command to change scim to the default input controller:
$ Sudo cp/etc/X11/xinit/xinput. d/default/etc/X11/xinit/xinput. d/default. bak
$ Sudo cp/etc/X11/xinit/xinput. d/scim/etc/X11/xinit/xinput. d/default
Then restart X.
PS, by the way, Ubuntu 7.10 does not feel as good as 7.04.
In particular, the five-stroke input method is much more ugly than Ubuntu 7.04.
However, the dynamic effect of the window seems to be quite dazzling.
