Solve the problem of slow startup caused by & quot; StartingMTA... & quot; In Debian-Linux Release Technology-Debian information. See the following for details. I used Debian Lenny, and I found that I had to wait for a long time every time I started to "Starting MTA...". Sometimes it even took more than a minute, so it was so uncomfortable.

I found a solution on the internet today and shared it.

Cause:

MTA (message transfer agent, Exim installed by default) will perform DNS lookups (DNS lookup) operations at startup, and if it is to dial the number online or like I use Reijie, the system tries to connect to the network (even if the connection fails) for a long time, resulting in slow start. (Here is a detailed explanation: 2.1.1.10 in Exim 4 for Debian. keep number of DNS queries minimal (Dial-on-Demand ))

Solution:
1. edit the file:/etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf, find the dc_minimaldns field, and set it to: dc_minimaldns = 'true ';

2. Reset exim. Run: sudo dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config

Select Yes.
