SQL query the total number of records in a table is there any faster than this?
Currently it is Echo mysql_result (mysql_query ("SELECT count (table ID) from table where table Name= ' Zhang San '", $conn), 0);

I'm not really happy with the execution time at the moment.

Uncle Aunt Grand have a better plan to get the total number?
