In the past two days, I started to toss my machine over again. After all, I usually use Linux, so it is just a variety of data backup + transfer, so that my machine will never be able to exert its real strength in Windows, change to Ubuntu11.10 ...... Tsung I has a fingerprint recognition module and is used to logging on with your fingers. It is especially troublesome to lose the password again and again, this is especially strong for me who often experiment with various deb packages, wander around UbuntuSoftwareCenter, and often use sudo. And identify this fingerprint.

In the past two days, I started to toss my machine over again. After all, I usually use Linux, so it is just a variety of data backup + transfer, so that my machine will never be able to exert its real strength in Windows, change to Ubuntu 11.10 ......

Tsung I has a fingerprint recognition module and is used to logging on with your fingers. It is especially troublesome to lose the password again and again, this is especially strong for me who often experiment with various deb packages, wander around the Ubuntu Software Center, and often use sudo. However, this fingerprint recognition has become a task this morning.

The whole process is not complicated, but because Cannonical and Ubuntu Software Center do not support this, it is still necessary to make a little effort. The process is as follows:
Add PPA software source
Command Line sudo add-apt-repository ppa: fingerprint/fprint, press enter to confirm adding the source. Update the database sudo apt-get update.
Install FPrint fingerprint recognition software
Command Line sudo apt-get install fprint-demo installation.
Test FPrint fingerprint recognition software
Find the fprint project demo under "Applications"> "Accessories. Click Start and check whether the device can be found (no fingerprints are required at this time ). No problem encountered.
Install PAM module
Command Line sudo apt-get install libpam-fprintd installation. I have not modified/etc/pam. d/common-auth before, so I skipped the sudo pam-auth-update -- force step.
Registration fingerprint
In "System"> "Preferences"> "About Me", click "Enable Fingerprint Login" and follow the prompts for an error. Log on to the fprint project demo and add a fingerprint record. Return About Me to add again, successful.

In general, it is still very simple and smooth, and will not be used to return the password in the future. It is easier to feel it ~
