After Ubuntu12.04 is installed, I use the Firefox browser to watch videos. Result the browser prompts that a suitable plug-in is missing and the player cannot be played. In the installation wizard, I selected the adobeflash plug-in.
However, after waiting for half an hour, the flash plug-in has not been downloaded yet, because there are other software to download, so I click to cancel the download of the flash plug-in. the result is stuck there after half an hour:
I think, since the software center cannot be downloaded, use the apt-get install command in the terminal to download it. Result:
Copy codeThe code is as follows:
E: unable to obtain the lock/var/lib/dpkg/lock-open (11: the resource is temporarily unavailable)
E: The Management Directory (/var/lib/dpkg/) cannot be locked. Is there any other process occupying it?
I closed the Ubuntu Software Center and used the following method to unlock it:
Copy codeThe code is as follows:
Sudo rm/var/cache/apt/archives/lock
Sudo rm/var/lib/dpkg/lock
After unlocking, I use the apt-get command again to download the software:
"E: dpkg is interrupted. you must manually run sudo dpkg -- configure-a to solve this problem ."
Now, check the Ubuntu Software Center again. there is no download item "canceling. Use apt-get to install the software on the terminal again.
Then, I used the method provided by yuntianhe _ reincarnation: first download install_flash_player_11_linux.i386.tar.gz on the adobeofficial network, decompress it to the desktop, and install it on the terminal:
Copy codeThe code is as follows:
CD'/home/myd/desktop'

Sudo cp libflashplayer. so/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins # if this command cannot work, (the flash plug-in of Firefox 12.04 may not be installed in the mozilla path:
Mozilla was invalid when I installed flash today. Please replace mozilla with firefox.
However, in any case, mozilla is firefox.
If the sudo cp libflashplayer. so/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins command cannot work on your computer, try the following command:
Copy codeThe code is as follows:
Sudo cp libflashplayer. so/usr/lib/firefox/plugins
