Message from the official Ubuntu Wiki: Ubuntu 15.10 code: Wily Werewolf will be released in May October 22 this year. Ubuntu 15.10 uses Kernel 4.0 or Kernel 4.1 by default. Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu GNOME, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Server, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Core Snappy, and Ubuntu Kylin versions are also released.

Important version release date:

• June 25, 2015, Ubuntu 15.10 Alpha 1
• Alpha 2 was released in December July 30, 2015.
• In December August 27, 2015, Beta 1 was released.
• Final Beta was released on July 6, September 24, 2015.
