Ubuntu7.04 language support settings

Before setting Ubuntu7.04, you need to set the software source. If your ubuntu 7.04 is still in English, choose System> Administration> Language Support from the menu. In the Chinese environment, choose System> System Management> Language Support.

When you set language support for the first time, a dialog box may pop up prompting you that the language support is not installed completely (the language support is not fully installed). In this case, click Install, you can install more languages.

Then, let's find the chinese in the list and tick it. ubuntu will automatically download the chinese package for you.

When these chinese packages are installed, make sure that the Default Language Below is chinese (china), save the package, press ctrl + alt + backspace to log out, and restart X-windows (graphic interface ). After restarting, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that the interface has become Chinese. Press Ctrl + space and the SCIM is activated. You can enter Chinese (the SCIM input method is installed by default in ubuntu ).

Choose system> preferences> scim settings, input method engine> global settings, and select the input method you need.
