Environment: X86 PC, IDE Hard Drive
Fault description: I used Ubuntu 6.06 Server CD for installation. At that time, the kernel was 2.6.15. The file system used included ext3 and ReiserFS. To meet the running requirements of the new version of Skyeye (embedded platform simulator), you can directly upgrade apt-get dist-upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10 (kernel 2.6.22 ). So far, it is normal to use.
Once, the Server password is forgotten and the password is restored in rescue mode of Ubuntu 6.06 CD. After the recovery is complete, restart the system and enter the system partition. In addition to the system partition, mount the failed to other partitions and enter/dev to view the device. The original hdaX (X is the number 1 ~ 7) All disappears and is replaced by sdaX (which indicates that the hard drive is faulty and identified as a SATA or SCSI hard drive ). If you try to mount these partitions at this time, the system prompts "busy" or "in use ". Try to format the partitions that are incorrectly identified into the ext3 type again, and the fault persists.
Solution: During grub boot, select the old kernel version 2.6.15.
