1. Start the instance with Ubuntu8.10alternativeCD, press English, press F4. select commandlinesystem. 2. Remember to set the network and install bootloader in (hd1 ). 3. 3. After the instance is restarted

> Sudo apt-get install wvdial (so that my BrandLuxe C170 can access the Internet ).

4. Install LXDE

> Sudo apt-get install LXDE

5. Install synaptic, firefox, gnome-system-tools, gcin

> Sudo apt-get install synaptic firefox gnome-system-tools gcin

6. reboot

> Sudo reboot

7. synaptic package manager is available in system tools. It is convenient to install it with netapplet (network selector) and gnome-network-admin, so that different networks can be set on different computers.
