Hardware preparation:
Connect the built-in printing server (such as 620N and 615N) or the external printing server 300X, 500X, and 175X) to the printer, and connect the printer to the corresponding network environment through the network cable;
Print the configuration page of the network printing server, check the server status and configure the server's required protocol status as ready;
Use TCP/IP Protocol configuration and print the port through IP: Make sure that the IP displayed on the server configuration status page is applicable to your network, in the computer test, you can successfully PING this IP address; or the displayed IP address is the factory default value: 192.0.0.192, enter the configuration and installation of the following software, otherwise, you must perform the cold reset operation on the print server to restore the factory value ).
Software configuration and installation:
Install and configure the network printer software in two steps:
1. Installation of the printer driver:
Go back to the printer driver download page and download the required PCL, which is more suitable for output in this article) or PS for image output) print the driver. After the download is complete, double-click the file and click UNZIP, the driver is automatically unbound from the default C-drive root directory folder;

Choose to install from a floppy disk or disk, browse to the drive folder corresponding to the C:/disk root directory after unpacking, and receive the prompt "do not print test page" to complete installation.
2. Printer network port configuration:
To install the printed driver, click the following link to download the driver named "HP Network Printer winXP/win2k/nt4.0/98/me" version 3.04. Note: for HP Web print servers, the configuration drivers are the same regardless of model, so you don't have to see if they match the Network Print Server Model marked on this download page) http://support.hp.com.cn/support/J4169A/drivers/
If the system exits when anti-virus software or firewall is running, double-click the downloaded driver file and uninstall the package automatically. Follow the prompts to complete the installation. Run the hp install network printer wizard network configuration program from Start> program. Follow the prompts to go to the interface shown in, select from the list of detected printers. The wizard software searches for all the printers connected to the network. This process takes a long time:
Select the printer you want to configure in the list of listed machines. If there are many printers on the network, you can select the hardware address on the configuration page just displayed, IP addresses help determine the printer to be configured:
If you have found and selected a printer correctly, skip this step.) If the wizard cannot find the printer in the network, you can select "specify printer by address ", enter the "hardware address", "IP address", "IP host name", and one of the following items as prompted, so that the program can determine the corresponding printer information, which can also be obtained on the print server configuration page:
If you want to change the factory IP Address: 192.0.0.192 to a fixed IP address for the network, select "let me configure my own network settings" and go to the next step: you do not need to change the current network printing server settings. Select the default option "configure network settings for me" to go directly to step 7th for installation;
Click "let me configure my printer" to go to the page, select the corresponding communication mode, such as TCP/IP or IPX, and select TCP/IP. You need to change the IP address, click "change settings..." Click the button to adjust parameters such as the IP address of the printer server and click OK to go to the next step:
The system will automatically analyze the network, analyze the system, and analyze the printer. Because the driver of the printer has been installed on port LPT1 of the system, the software will automatically find the corresponding print driver; otherwise, a window will appear, select "select driver from driver list for the PC" to automatically change the driver port of the printer from local LPT to network port
Follow the prompts to complete the installation process and print the test page. If the printer prints the test page normally, the print server configuration is complete.
