Suppose the Ubuntu-8.10-alternate-i386.iso is in your home directory

After the terminal is opened

Sudo mkdir/media/cdrom0 # skip this step if the cdrom0 directory exists.

Sudo mount-t iso9660-o loop ubuntu-8.10-alternate-i386.iso/media/cdrom0/

Sudo apt-cdrom-m-d/media/cdrom0 add

Sudo apt-get update

The above steps are actually the process of using the CD as the source.

We only need to load the image,

Then execute

Sudo/media/cdrom/cdromupgrade

Then the upgrade steps for the graphic interface are completed.

Ubuntu 8.10 is quite useful.
