What if MySQL forgets the root password?

Sometimes forget the root password of MySQL, how to do?

At this time, we can modify the MY.CNF, add the way to start without checking permissions, then modify the root, and finally restart the MySQL database.

(1) Service MySQL stop

[[Email protected] mysql]# service MySQL stop
Shutting down MySQL.

(2) VI my.cnf Add skip-grant-tables option to start

(3) Password to log in to Mysql,update root

MariaDB [(none)]> update mysql.user set Password=password (' xxxxxx ') where user= ' root ';
Query OK, 3 rows affected (0.04 sec)
Rows Matched:3 Changed:3 warnings:0

MariaDB [(none)]> commit;

(4) Remove the Skip-grant-tables,service mysql restart in my.cnf
