I. Partition Scheme
I have referred to several online solutions to form a solution suitable for me (a little more partitioning, just like this to be compatible with some of the previous data storage habits ):
Primary partition ------ sda1 20g ntfs c drive Windows 7 System
Extended partition ---- sda2
------- Logical Disk -- sda5 10G FAT32 D disk backup
------- Logical Disk -- sda6 90g ntfs edisk Software 2 system sharing
------- Logical Disk -- sda7 90g ntfs f Disk 2 system share
------- Logical Disk -- sda8 90g ntfs g Disk 2 system share
------- Logical Disk -- sda9 50G EXT4/Ubuntu System
------- Logical Disk -- sda10 100G EXT4 Virtual Machine
------- Logical Disk -- sda11 2G/swap
------- Logical Disk -- remaining space of sda12 EXT4/tmp
2. Preparations before installation
1. hard Disk Partition: The new hard disk is not identified when it is mounted to Ubuntu with a mobile hard disk. GParted partitions cannot be used. It is identified when it is mounted to Windows and partitioned by PartitionMagic8. As there is no EXT4 partition format option, therefore, the partitions of EXT4 are not formatted first.
Note: Based on practical experience, you only need to split the C and D disks first. Other disks can be installed after the system is installed.
2. copy the Installation File: Decompress the downloaded win7 installation iso file to the partition of 10G FAT32.
3. Check the original system to be backed up:
A) Virtual Machine (remove Volume folder)
B) Email: address Settings, account settings, Email settings, etc.
C) MySQL and Oracle Database Files
D)/home
E) browsing history of FIrefox and Chrome
F) software installed under/
Iii. Installation Process
1. Install Windows 7 on the hard disk (32-bit Chinese language environment)
1) Installation Process: Start the CD, run WinPE, manually run ghost, recover the win7.gho file to the C drive, restart it, start from the hard disk, win7 appears, after some initialization settings, OK, very fast.
Note: a problem occurs during this period. If Windows 7 fails to be started after the ghost recovers, the answer is: Drive C is not activated (the hard disk is partitioned first in other systems ), enter WinPE again and set drive C as active.
2) Check hardware identification
A) 4G memory is recognized, but only 2.96G is available. Run the "enable 4G memory support" provided by the system. After restart, the Startup menu has multiple options. after entering the system, the available memory becomes 3.90 GB;
B) The resolution is OK, the sound is OK, the wired wireless network is OK, the Bluetooth is OK, and the camera is OK;
C) The Device Manager detects four unknown devices, which are irrelevant and are temporarily ignored.
3) system settings
A) set the administrator password;
B) Adjust the time zone and calibration time;
C) Set "computer description ";
D) Disable Remote Assistance, remote desktop, and automatic update ";
E) install 360, scan, update, and optimize .......
2. Hard Disk installation Ubuntu10.04 (desktop-amd64, English language environment)
1) installation process (a little thrilling): According to the http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2010-05/25875.htm for operations, set the startup option to restart enter Ubuntu, start the installation, in the hard disk partition that step only one option, A little problem. I have already allocated a good partition. I should leave the installation with caution. I went back to Win7 and lost all the areas I had previously allocated, leaving only C and D2 disks, cup. Fortunately, it's a new hard disk and there is no content in other partitions. Therefore, use the disk to manage the three NTFS partitions in the plan, restart them to enter Ubuntu, and then start the installation. In this case, the hard disk partition step shows the expected multiple options. Select the manual one, divide the area according to the plan, and then confirm the installation of the system.
After the installation is successful, restart Ubuntu and run sudo update-grub on the command line. Restart immediately to check whether the Dual System Startup menu appears: Thank God.
2) Check hardware identification
A) Check hard disk partitions: OK is consistent with the plan;
B) view memory: 3861 MB. 4 GB memory is used;
C) display, sound, wired, wireless network, and Bluetooth are all normal;
D) unexpectedly there is a new problem: USB external recorder a bit of a problem (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20L): when not placed in the blank dial shows this device, placed in the blank disk after the device disappears, however, the device was still identified in the hard disk manager. If it was not a blank dial, it would not have been the case. I searched the internet and found that some of my friends had the same problem, however, there is no solution, so we should consider whether to switch back to version 9.10. If you want to solve the problem, you should forget it, because it can be engraved under Win7, and there is no need to re-install it for this small problem, the problem will be resolved soon.
3) system settings
A) up-to-date, sudo apt-get autoremove;
B) set time synchronization;
C) install Mac at http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2010-09/28560.htm;
Here again encountered a problem: login interface garbled (displayed as a box), and then search for answers: http://www.linuxidc.com/Linux/2010-09/28560p2.htm one by one tried the described method, and finally this recruit spirit: rm-f/usr/share/fonts/mac/Lucida \ Grande * all other solutions fail.
D) Check Chinese display, install Chinese language packs, and input methods;
E) install Virtualbox4.0.2 (try this new version );
F) JDK, Thunderbird, MySQL, Oracle, Eclipse ,...... A few things, gradually restore ......
Now, the dual-system coexistence is basically successful.
Love tossing and tossing ......
