Zhang Xiaolong announced the release of the mini-program in January 9 and answered the eight most important questions.

On June 18, December 28, 2016, Zhang Xiaolong announced the official release date of the mini-program at the venue of the PRO version of The Open Course.

The mini-program will be officially launched in January 9, 2017.

At the same time, he explained that small programs are like websites in the PC era. They do not need to be downloaded or installed, and the information is at your fingertips. Once they are used up, they do not need to be uninstalled.

"Applets are very similar to WebSite Services in the PC era. Website services are more direct than public accounts. As you may imagine, it may be better to think of applets as websites in the PC era ." Said Zhang Xiaolong.

Zhang Xiaolong said that the time consumed by a user in a product is not a consideration. What is important is how much products can help people accomplish what they want to do. From this we can see that applets are not a product designed to take up our "Attention" and "time", but can be accessed at any time when we need them, and quickly help us solve the problem.

Several questions that everyone cares about most

Next, Zhang Xiaolong answered questions about applets that may be of the greatest concern to everyone.

The first question: where is the entrance to the applet?

There is no entry in the small program. Many people see this as a new opportunity to start testing the small program. We should take the first wave to get some traffic dividends, however, it is a pity that there is no entry in the public account. If a user has not subscribed to any public account, he cannot find such an entry in it, the same is true for applets. If a person has not run any small program, he cannot find the entry to the small program.

This is related to some of the previously mentioned product concepts. In this process, we have been advocating a decentralized structure, so it is impossible for you to see a subscription number entry in it, there is a classification in it, and there is sorting or recommendation. This is the first step in the public number, this has brought great benefits to the public account platform.

If there is no such portal, all enterprises that provide the public account service will find a way to store their QR codes in the places they can store, then the portal of the public account is actually not in the content, but in the QR code. If we have a basic entrance, you may be able to snatch the entrance. If we have recommendations, it is not a good thing. Our recommendations will become subscribed by more people.

So for a small program, you can imagine where more small program users will start it in the future? We hope that the startup of the applet comes from scanning the QR code.

Not long ago, I talked to a partner company about this topic. They hope to know the release time of the applet and make some preparations.

I think it is quite appropriate for them to propose a scenario. They said that the current bus tickets are not electronic. If everyone goes to the bus station to buy a ticket, they must go to the bus station to buy a ticket. This is a very painful process, you have to queue up to buy tickets, and then take a bus. They want to solve this problem with a small program. They only need to set up a QR code at each bus station, all the people who arrive at the bus station scan the QR code to start the small program for purchasing tickets, and then directly buy tickets through the small program, so that the ticket window does not exist, I think this is a very small program.

There will be a lot of such ideas. I talked to my colleagues in the mini program yesterday. They said that someone made a mini program very convenient. It was just like waiting for a bus station on the bus station, I want to know when the next bus will arrive. At this time, I just need to scan the QR code of the bus station and start the mini program of the bus station to see when the next bus will arrive, this is also a typical small program scenario.

So at least in the early stage, we will encourage applets to appear in every place in the form of QR codes, just as in the early stages of the public account.

The second question is, will there be a place similar to a mini-app store that can be downloaded?

Actually, there is no such thing. We can infer that there is no download process, so there is no app store to download.

But you will say that I want to browse in it and find some small programs. searching is another thing, but we don't have a store for small programs, therefore, we will not create an APP distribution idea as we have guessed.

From the very beginning, we didn't have this idea. Just like a public account, there was never a public account center. It could list everything in different categories, we believe that there should be no central portal, which is decentralized, so we will not classify, rank, and recommend small programs.

You may have some ideas about the recommendation. Why don't you recommend something that you are interested in? In fact, we can also use this idea to the public account. We will not do this, nor will we do this in the future.

We have considered the difference between recommendations for machines and a person's social media. The circle of friends is actually similar to social recommendations. You will see a lot of articles in the circle of friends every day, your friends actually act as a recommender so that you do not need to rely on system recommendations.

If our system does not do well without your friends, because the system will not recommend you something you have never touched, and the system will only strengthen the information you have touched, and constantly learn your history and continue to recommend your history, but your friends may say in the circle of friends that a movie looks great, then you will watch this movie because of your friends who have watched this movie. The machine cannot understand this. The machine will only collect the movies you have seen in the past, then, sort out the types of movies you have watched and think that you like them, but the movies recommended by your friends may be movies you have never touched on, therefore, most of them rely on social recommendation.

The same is true for small programs. You may use strange little programs, but we will not use one because you have already used one, for example, the small program for learning English repeatedly recommends small programs for you to learn English. This topic is not here.

Third question: what is the relationship between applets and subscription numbers?

I believe many people will pay attention to this issue. If we make a public account, we will find many subscribers (that is, fans ), in addition, you will judge the value of this number from the number of fans, but the applet will not be like the subscription number, so if you do a small program, it cannot depend on how many fans I Want To Get. fans do not mean traffic. It doesn't mean that you have enough fans and you have enough traffic.

You can recall the example above. In the PC Internet era, you do not need to become a fan of a website or subscribe to a website, if you subscribe to all websites to view their information, the website may have been dead for a long time.

So it is the same for small programs. It has only one access relationship, not a fan relationship, so it is essentially different from the public account, A applet is not a public number, but a new form.

Fourth question: can a applet push messages?

It may be of great interest to many people. The answer is no.

If the applet can push messages, it means that every website you visit will send you a message, and you may crash, so it cannot push messages, however, we provide limited service reach capabilities. When you visit a website, you may leave your own email address, if the services you want are available, this website will send you an email, and the mini-programs are similar.

When you perform an operation in the applet and want to receive subsequent notifications, we will provide such a notification mechanism, so that you can send a notification to your user through the applet, but this notification does not mean that the applet will receive a push, it means that the user actively confirms in the applet that he needs to obtain a subsequent notification, so it is a very limited notification capability.

It seems that we have very strict restrictions on the capabilities of such notifications. In fact, there is no way to do this. Just like an example I just mentioned, you leave an address in a website, you will receive a lot of spam, and we do not want such a thing to happen again in a small program.

Fifth Question: Can I share it with a small program?

Of course there is a problem that won't be listed. Can I share it with my friends? Certainly not. This is not a problem. But the applet can be shared to the chat and shared to the group.

In fact, sharing to the group and chatting have a huge space for imagination. I remember when we talked about this function internally and shared a small program to a group, it was actually very simple at the beginning, that is, I just sent a small program to a group. That is, I used the group to spread the program and let it be used in the group.

But in fact, the sharing of small programs is not just like this. The sharing of small programs is more about hoping to bring about a new way of collaboration.

For example, when I send a voting applet to the Group, it means that everyone in the group can immediately start the applet and use it to vote, everyone can see the vote of others. For a group, this applet carries the login status of each person, and everyone accesses the task of the same applet.

Tasks based on such groups can be shared by all people in the group. When any person updates the status of small programs in the group, other people in the group can see this, as you can imagine, there may be a lot of collaborative mini programs.

We also proposed the concept of a small program page. For example, a small program of a stock, I only share this page of The 0700 stock that I currently see, then I shared it to a group. The people in the group also saw a stock page like 0700. We called it a applet page.

What we hope here is that what I share with the group is a live data, which is what I see currently.

My intention is not to share a program in the group so that everyone can re-run the program. I just shared a piece of live information, and what we hope in the future is that, of course we have not done it yet. What we want more is to share the information on this page in the group. It is active, which means that when it appears in a chat, you don't even need to click in to see the performance of this applet.

For example, if I share a small program of clock to the group, then everyone in the group will see this small program, and there will be a clock running there without having to click in. This form has not yet been implemented yet, but I personally look forward to it. I believe that this collaborative task will be of great help to the sharing of small programs. we can develop a lot of small programs that require groups to complete the task together.

The Sixth Small question is, many people will ask if mini-programs can play games?

We cannot.

7. can I find a small program?

There will be many people who say that we are doing small programs earlier, and then we can make good use of such early traffic. Here we are particularly sorry to say, we hope that applets do not obtain users by means of traffic distribution. As we mentioned earlier, we hope that applets can be accessed by users, when the user needs to reach it, and then use it, instead of recommending it to him when the user does not need it. Therefore, the user can search for small programs, but we can try to limit its search capability, avoid abuse of it, so that users can search for a small program they need.

The eighth small question is, what is the relationship between applets and public accounts?

Just now, we understand that the relationship between applets and public accounts is very independent, but because many public accounts and mini programs may be developed by an enterprise, therefore, they should have some associations. One of the associations we currently provide is that you can see in the public account what small programs the same company has done, or you can also see in a small program what public accounts are made by the enterprise that is doing this small program, they can jump to each other.

Another small problem is that since the applet highlights the QR code, will there be some prompts for offline stores, at this stage, we may very easily allow users to see which small programs exist near him, we are talking about nearby mini-programs, which are nearby stores that provide services, and they also have mini-programs. For example, if there is a storeloaders outside the three kilometers, you can see and immediately open its mini-program and then buy something, which is very likely.

After reading it, there are basically no major omissions in my outline. The explanation of small programs is basically here, which takes a lot of time, I hope I can make it clear. Thank you very much. You may also pay attention to the question: when can a applet be used? We hope that small programs can be used by all users in January 9. We also hope that more companies will turn their services into a form of small programs in January 9, to all users.
