Recently, at&t* and IBM announced the establishment of a new strategic partnership to provide enterprises with simplified, single-source integrated network security and threat management services. Two companies will provide enterprise customers with a new service that combines secure network infrastructure with advanced threat monitoring and analysis.
Cyber threats have been placed on the board's agenda, which could lead to the paralysis of corporate networks, the emergence of compliance issues, damage to corporate profitability, and the impact of brand reputation. In addition, disparate security technologies also create "islands of security" issues, which increase the cost and complexity of security management, making it virtually impossible for organizations to monitor the security threats in their IT environments uniformly. This new service, provided by At&t and IBM, will help companies meet these challenges, bringing the best combination of highly secure network infrastructure, analytics, and out-of-the-tier security capabilities for the next generation of cloud management.
At&t and IBM will improve the management of these features and bring the following benefits to customers:
• Reduce costs and reduce complexity
• High visibility and superior performance for intelligent control of diverse IT environments
• Simplify infrastructure and reduce requirements for security hardware, licensing, and maintenance
At&t and IBM all have world-class IT security data monitoring operations, each capturing the leading security threat intelligence analysis from the billions of security incidents it tracks every day. With strong alliances, two companies will jointly provide the source of security intelligence analysis and the industry's ability to analyze information.
This new service consists of a proven solution from AT&T and IBM that includes the network security infrastructure and security management services provided by AT&T, including network-based firewalls, intrusion detection systems/intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web filtering, Secure e-mail gateways and protection services for distributed denial of Service (DDoS) for preset or security devices managed in At&t Cloud. The services offered by IBM include: IBM Network security Consulting services for evaluating and reforming network security, IBM Security monitoring and threat intelligence analysis solutions for rapid threat detection and response, and IBM Emergency Response Services, which provide uninterrupted security expertise to respond to complex attacks and assist in recovery.
"In today's changing threat environment, companies need low-cost, cost-effective solutions to provide end-to-end protection and real-time monitoring and response operations," said Andy Daudelin, vice president for security services at At&t's Business Solutions division. We have created a unique set of solutions that combine the power of AT&T network security services, high reliability, high flexibility, and IBM's threat intelligence analytics capabilities. ”
Kris Lovejoy, general manager of IBM's security services, said: "Companies have found that a hybrid IT strategy has the advantage of combining mobile, cloud, and out-of-the-box IT resources." But without a single, integrated management system, securing these infrastructures can be a very complex task. A single, integrated management system avoids the creation of isolated islands of secure data, which makes it virtually impossible for an enterprise to monitor the security threats in its entire environment in a unified manner. IBM and AT&T companies are working together to provide unprecedented security services designed to break these islands and better secure data, regardless of where the data is located. ”
"This is a powerful combination of industry-leading, web-based security, consulting and analytics capabilities," said Christina Richmond, director of the IDC Company's infrastructure department. At&t and IBM meet a real market demand with powerful, end-to-end security solutions that provide integrated services for enterprise customers and provide simplicity for them. ”
