Washington (reporter Mr Xu) yesterday, China UnionPay issued the August 2010 "Xinhua UnionPay Bank of China card consumer Confidence Index" (referred to as BCCI). Data show that the August 2010 BCCI was 86.36, up 0.17 year-on-year, the chain slightly reduced by 0.05. UnionPay believes that short-term local factors lead to BCCI small fluctuations, the follow-up trend is expected to rebound. The short-term price rise caused by seasonal factors is the main cause of the small fluctuations in the August BCCI. The increase in CPI in July as well as the rising cost of living goods caused by short-term seasonal factors such as high temperature and floods have increased the cost of basic consumer goods for cardholders, resulting in a decrease in the proportion of consumption of basic consumer goods and BCCI operating values.
