CBRC issued a presidential decree to standardize the conduct of Commercial Bank directors

BEIJING, December 27 (reporter Cao Hua) Recently, the CBRC issued the "Commercial Bank board of Directors of the evaluation Method (Trial)" [2010 7th] (hereinafter referred to as the "method"), further strengthen the supervision of the performance of Commercial bank directors, urging commercial banks to further improve the corporate governance mechanism of commercial banks,　　Protect the lawful rights and interests of commercial banks, depositors and other relevant stakeholders. The approach, for the first time, clearly stipulates the responsibilities, requirements and problems of the directors of commercial banks in two aspects of faithfulness and diligence, and puts forward the requirements for the compliance, professionalism and efficiency of the directors of commercial banks.　　On the basis of proposing the common duty requirement, the method distinguishes the different responsibilities of Executive Director, Non-executive director and independent director, and puts forward the differentiated requirements. According to the "method", commercial banks should make evaluation rules, establish the track and record system of directors, and evaluate the performance of the directors of commercial banks each year. The evaluation rules, process and evaluation results of commercial banks shall be subject to the supervision of the CBRC. The method establishes the exit mechanism of the Director of Commercial Bank for the first time.　　The "method" clearly stipulates that the directors of commercial banks should be rated as incompetent, and that commercial banks should promptly replace incompetent directors. The implementation of the "method" will help to realize the whole process of supervising the performance of the directors of commercial banks, enhance the ability of the directors and improve the scientific decision-making of the Board.
