International online News: U.S. Treasury 16th, the United States ' largest creditor, increased its holdings of $15.1 billion trillion in U.S. Treasuries in September, according to a report released by the US Department of Finance. This is China's third consecutive month of increased holdings of U.S. Treasuries. The report shows that in September China held a total of 883.5 billion U.S. Treasury bonds. By the end of September this year, foreign creditors held a total of about $4.2 trillion trillion in US Treasuries, up 53.7 billion dollars from last month. Economists believe that foreign creditors are increasing their holdings of US Treasuries in part because Treasuries remain a relatively safe area of investment in the current uncertain outlook for global economic growth.
