A white paper on corruption and Clean government, published 29th by the State Council's information office, said that since 2005, when it concentrated on the management of commercial bribery to 2009, the country has investigated more than 69,200 cases of commercial bribery, involving an amount of 16.59 billion yuan. The white paper said that in recent years, China has focused on dealing with commercial bribery in the areas of engineering construction, land tenure and mining rights, property rights transactions, pharmaceutical purchase and sale, government procurement, resource development and distribution, and bank credit, according to law, to combat Cross-border (Cross-border) commercial bribery acts.
