Cloudstack and OpenStack: Cisco and Citrix Expand Cloud Compilation

Cisco is a prominent contributor to the OpenStack cloud operating system and recently declared that it will support the Apache Cloudstack platform based on Citrix. Support for Cloudstack is part of a further broadening of the alliance between Cisco and Citrix, including networking products, desktop virtualization, and cloud development.

Cisco has contributed to both open source projects, and the new cloud tier will help Cloudstack grow into a formidable competitor for OpenStack, while providing a chance for cloud providers to leverage Cisco technology within Cloudstack.

Cloud providers profit from new cloud-making layers
