Zhang Weilin said after the meeting that the Task force had recommended 4 public hospitals, including Kwong Wah Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital and Tunmen Hospital, to discontinue the appointment of non-local pregnant women next year, and 4 other hospitals, including the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Queen Mary Hospital and the United Christian Hospital will still be subject to appointments for non-local pregnant women, but the overall quota will be further reduced from 3,400 this year to less than 3,000. He stressed that the primary service for local pregnant women in public hospitals would be to pay close attention to local and non-local expectant mothers to adjust their appointment quotas to ensure that the needs of local pregnant women were met, and the recommendations would be submitted to the Food and Health Bureau within this month.
