July M2 growth fell to 17.6% 19-month low

In July, the broad-money (M2) growth rate fell to 17.6%, creating the lowest value in 19 months, according to data released yesterday by the Central Bank (Super). The figure is very close to the 17% per cent growth target set at the start of the year, and M2 is expected to finish early in the third quarter as soon as possible. At the same time, the narrow currency (M1) growth rate fell to 22.9%, also created 13 months since the lowest value. The inverted scissors of M1 and M2 narrowed to 5.3%, the lowest value for a month since this year.
