Microsoft (msft,25.31,+0.24%) announced that the Kinect had reached 2.5 million global sales after only 25 days after the sale, making sales expected to reach 5 million in the Christmas shopping season. An executive at US retail giant Target said the "black Friday" after Thanksgiving was usually the start of the shopping season, and the Kinect made a good sales performance on that day. Kinect is the latest development of Microsoft's Xbox based somatosensory gaming device that allows players to play through body movements and voice control. Its main competitor is Nintendo's newest Wii system and Sony PlayStation's move-body handle. Nintendo offers a Wii Controller for Wii consoles, but it sells less than Microsoft. But Nintendo says it has 65 million units in the U.S. market, selling up to 46000 units a day.
