"Nintendo President Rock Iwata (Satoru Iwata) needs Wii to help Nintendo recover its performance growth. including Nintendo, Sony and other specialized hardware equipment manufacturers, are now facing the fierce challenges from mobile device manufacturers such as Apple. Nintendo's shares fell 7.5% per cent in the Osaka Stock Exchange in Tuesday, at 16100 yen, a record low since April 28, 2006. Nintendo's share turnover reached 1.67 million shares, far exceeding the average of 724,000 shares in the past 6 months. Nintendo did not disclose the price of a new generation of video game consoles Wii, previously known as the "Coffee Project" (Project Cafe). Wii with a front-facing camera, 6.2-inch touch screen, expanded SD slot, can be controlled by flat pad control game. Players can also wirelessly connect the game to the home screen to transmit content. Nintendo started selling 3DS handheld consoles this February. Nintendo expects 3DS sales to be expected to reach 16 million in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012. The 3DS, priced at $250, has been sold in the US, Europe and Japan markets.
