Details of the transaction have not yet been disclosed.
Xsigo Systems, a privately owned company, was founded in 2004 and headquartered in San Jose, California, USA, with more than 300 corporate customers, and its software-defined network technology simplifies cloud infrastructure and operations.
In recent years, more and more enterprises have turned to cloud computing. Oracle, under the leadership of CEO Ellison, has aggressively entered cloud computing through a series of acquisitions.
Just this month, Oracle has agreed to buy--involver, a social marketing firm, and says it will also buy Skire, a capital project management and facilities management application provider. Oracle also acquired Taleo, a human-resource software maker, and a cloud-based customer service company, RightNow Technology.
Last month, Oracle reported a 7.5% rise in earnings in the quarter's fiscal year, with software revenues rising sharply, surpassing revenues from its services and hardware systems.
Oracle shares closed 30.77 dollars in Friday. Oracle shares have risen 20% per cent so far this year. (Sub-question)
