March 28 Afternoon News According to foreign reports, the World Trade Organization (WTO) announced that its arbitration system has been accepted by the United States accused China of anti-dumping tariffs on some steel products. A WTO official said the case had been submitted to a panel of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (DSB), which normally takes 12-18 months to make its ruling, Reuters reported. The case involved China's tax on "oriented silicon Steel" produced by the US AK Steel and Pennsylvania State Allegheny Ludlum, which amounts to $ hundreds of millions of trillion. The US accuses China of returning tariffs without sufficient evidence of unfair U.S. pricing or government subsidies. China imposed anti-dumping duties on the steel imports from the United States and Russia last April, after a survey of two of China's largest steel companies, the Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, a parent company of Baosteel, the state-owned parent company, Shanghai Baosteel Group and Wisco. Oriented silicon Steel, also known as Orientation Yongrui, is used to produce the core components of high efficiency transformers, electric motors and generators.
